Everyone eats and just about everyone has cooked a meal. The television tells you about nutrition and health and what you should be eating on daily basis. And the internet is chockers with advice on food, nutrients and supplements. That makes nutrition easy. Or so it seems.
Now companies know they have to get the information they give their clients to be right on the button. The moment they are seen to be giving out-of-date information, unsubstantiated information or ‘nutrition facts’ that can be disproved they can be swiftly in trouble with the authorities.
Who is it for?
Our consulting is mainly for food companies, food industry associations and corporations giving nutrition advice to their employees or the public. We provide credible, evidence-based, nutrition information that is easy to read and understand.
What are the benefits to you?
You get a highly credible independent evaluation from someone who has over 30 years of experience. Glenn has a degree in journalism and has done 100s of media interviews, so he can be your media spokesperson as well. You will have peace of mind knowing that the nutrition information you provide is up-to-date and easy to understand.
––"As soon as we got Glenn and his company to check out our banana and health promotions he was quick to update all our information and create a list of highly credible nutrition information facts in an easy-to-read format for the public. He helps produce our media releases and is now our media spokesperson. We get tremendous value for money from his media presence alone".––

**What are some of the consulting we have done in the past?
Companies want peace of mind that their nutrition advice is credible and will hold up to scrutiny. The medical insurance company HBF wanted the best nutrition advice they could put in their booklets on child nutrition and feeding teenagers. We wrote the draft, had it checked by other professionals in paediatrics, and then re-wrote the booklets based on their feedback and the prevailing science. (The teenager guide can be found here: http://www.hbf.com.au/pdf/askted/HBF_Teenage_Eating_guide.pdf)
When the Australian mushroom industry wanted to promote the health benefits of mushrooms to consumers they needed the most current scientific studies to back the information they gave via recipes, newspaper stories and website information. The latest on mushroom nutrition can be found at http://www.mushroomsforlife.net. This has culminated in us overseeing mushroom research conducted at the University of Western Sydney and presenting our findings at the International Society of Mushroom Science Congress in South Africa.
For many years chocolate was called ‘junk food’. And then, starting in the late 1990s, published scientific research showed that the cocoa bean had a lot to offer on the health front. That made chocolate a nutritious food when eaten in sensible amounts. Chocolate was much misunderstood. The chocolate industry asked us to help them promote the science behind chocolate and health. That culminated in Glenn Cardwell writing his own book on chocolate. It wasn’t too difficult because virtually all of the research on cocoa and chocolate was positive (and he really enjoyed eating chocolate!) Bananas are Australia’s #1 fruit and has been for years, except for the times that cyclone Larry (2006) and cyclone Yasi (2011) destroyed around 80% of the banana crop. We help the banana industry promote bananas throughout Australia. You can see all the nutritional health benefits of the banana at http://www.australianbananas.com.au/nutrition. You will probably see our media articles about the health benefits of bananas too, especially as it is particularly high in vitamin B6, vitamin C, folate and fibre.
Over the years we have advised corporations about the food they provide their employees, the food they manufacture for the public, and the food they eat themselves. Both national and international companies have used our advice because they know it is dependable. Sometimes it is not what they want to hear, but they respect that we provide quality information and stand by our advice.
